Finally the perfect jeans!

I am always searching for the perfect pair of jeans and I have finally found it. I am short (5'2") and don't mind hemming the legs; I rarely find jeans that are the right length, even in petite sizes. (I am size 24.) My problem is that the "rise" is always too big, and therefore the jeans sag at the crotch, or come up too high at the waist. I have tried several other NYDJ styles but the Audrey is the only style that fits me from waist to crotch. I wish the style came in a lighter/washed version rather than just the dark color, but I am happy to have jeans that fit. I have hemmed the length on one pair to bring it to ankle length, and left the other pair longer so they are more typical jeans length. One complaint about all the plus sizes---the calf and ankle are often bigger than they need to be. Us plus-sizers lose the tapered look that is typical of regular jeans. I am not up for paying the cost for tailoring of jeans, but would like to have a style that has tapered, rather than straight or boot-cut (I never buy boot-cut) calves and ankles.That said, I am very pleased with the Audrey style because of its shorter rise in the Petite Plus sizes. I didnt even know this product existed until last week. I had my doubts - given I'm a tall plus size - but decided to give it a go.I have always loved this 'vintage' style and became super excited when i saw it. To help you decide here are my specs: 5'10" 48waist 55hip with mommy belly and no rear or BIF=bum in front.Given the size chart I ordered the 24 and a 26 just to be on the safe side. I understand one is to buy a size down but what isnt stated is that the size chart matches your measurements to conventional size choice not their 'sized down' sizes. So the chart had me at a 24.Ive justrecieved them - yippee - and slipped on the smaller 24 of the two. The size 24 is a bit too large given it will stretch. In one way its a great fit out of the box. But its the fit you get AFTER wearing them for a few days and they are about to need a wash,super comfy. I've already ordered the 22.My overall impressions when I first put these on were and are indeed - OMG FINALLY, I'VE FOUND THE HOLY GRAIL OF JEANS!!!!! These are stunning. The fabric is soft and not bulky so doesnt cut you in half you know where. The coverage is also fantastic taking in my entire mommy belly and NO MUFFIN TOP! Also, the streatch is perfect, I can sit and still breath and eat withut having to undo the button. The dark wash would be great to dress up with a twin set, pearls and heels as well as trainers and a t-shirt. I urge you to give them a try. Yes they are pricey but to have jeans that fit perfectly, look AMAZING on, are as comfortable as your yoga pants and can go from kids game practice to coctails? Well, you get the picture.

I have purchased other nydj and love them. Usually, I can get buy the 10p and they fit. I am usually a 12 in other brands. However, these I have to return for a size 12. So if you are expecting them to be 'forgiving' you may be better off buying a size up or purchasing both sizes, if you order online, and sending back the one that doesn't fit. I love the quality. And please, keep making them in the USA, otherwise, I will have to look for pants elsewhere. :-)
